My King Has Scars

John 19:31-37 ; Zechariah 12:10

This passage brings up the subject of the scars in that are in the body of Jesus Christ as a result of his crucifixion. It is interesting that the scars are a part of his glorified body. In this sermon we will look at some common sense things regarding scars, how they can apply to the scars of Jesus, and a spiritual applications for scars we receive while serving in the ministry of Jesus Christ.

Some facts regarding scars:

1)  They are the result of injuries (2 Corinthians 11:23-33)

2)  There is a story that can be told for every scar (Psalm 90:9)

3)  A scar means that a wound is healed (John 20:24-29)

4)  Becomes a point of identification (Leviticus 19:28)

Let us apply this to Jesus Christ:

1)  Results of an Injury (Isaiah 53:5)

2)  There is a story behind them (John 19:35)

3)  Scars show that a wound is healed (Revelation 1:18)

4)  Scars are a point of Identification (Zechariah 12:10 ; Revelation 1:7)

How does this apply to us? (Galatians 6:17)

Let us serve God faithfully, allow our wounds to heal, move on for God and be identified with Jesus Christ by the marks in our body.
