Seven Proverbs to Practice

 

A proverb is a short sentence expressing a well-known general truth or common fact, ascertained by experience or observation. Solomon wrote the book of Proverbs based on experience, observation, and by direction of the Spirit of God. Let’s look at seven of these proverbs and valuable they have, if put to practice.

Proverbs 1:10    My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not

Proverbs 3:5-6     Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Proverbs 6:23    For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

Proverbs 12:15     The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

Proverbs 16:18     Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Proverbs 22:7     The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.

Proverbs 23:21    For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.
